  • In the mid 19th Century Americans began going west in greater numbers, Why did they go or what were they going for? Who was already out west?

  • Along with steel, the discovery of what other product changed America and ultimately the World? Where was this product first discovered?
  • As industry grew, factories needed more workers. What was the overall relationship like between the owners of the factories and the workers? How did this relationship lead to the unions and what was the purpose of the unions?
  • What was the book The Jungle really about?
  • Like everything else there are "two sides to every coin". Would you say that the wealthy people who promoted big business which ultimately helped our country to become so prosperous are "Knights of Industry" or "Robber barons"?
